The platform devices registered by sysfb match with firmware-based DRM or fbdev drivers, that are used to have early graphics using a framebuffer provided by the system firmware. DRM or fbdev drivers later are probed and remove conflicting framebuffers, leading to these platform devices for generic drivers to be unregistered. But the current solution has a race, since the sysfb_init() function could be called after a DRM or fbdev driver is probed and request to unregister the devices for drivers with conflicting framebuffes. To prevent this, disable any future sysfb platform device registration by calling sysfb_disable(), if a driver requests to remove the conflicting framebuffers. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
