Attempting to open a non-existent file from the command line should not
fail, it should just open a new text document with that name. Note that
the file is not created until you actually save it.
And move canonicalized_path() to a static method on LexicalPath.
This is to make it clear that FileSystemPath/canonicalized_path() only
perform *lexical* canonicalization.
We're starting with a very basic decoding API and only ISO-8859-1 and
UTF-8 decoding (and UTF-8 decoding is really a no-op since String is
expected to be UTF-8.)
This works by hooking into the change notifications from the TextEditor
widget and parsing the document content as markdown, and generating an
HTML document from it which is displayed using LibWeb.
This will make it a bit easier to write man pages! :^)
This patch adds GUI::Action::create_checkable() helpers that work just
like the existing create() helpers, but the actions become checkable(!)
Clients are no longer required to manage the checked state of their
actions manually, but instead they will be checked/unchecked as needed
by GUI::Action itself before the activation hook is fired.
This allows us to construct menus in a more natural way:
auto& file_menu = menubar->add_menu("File");
file_menu.add_action(...);
Instead of the old way:
auto file_menu = GUI::Menu::construct();
file_menu->add_action(...);
menubar->add_menu(file_menu);
We also clean up some old references to the old G prefixed GUI classes
This also fixes a potential bug with using: C_OBJECT_ABSTRACT(GAbstractButton)
instead of C_OBJECT_ABSTRACT(AbstractButton)
Since the returned object is now owned by the callee object, we can
simply vend a ChildType&. This allows us to use "." instead of "->"
at the call site, which is quite nice. :^)
This is a little bit awkward since it's only used for generating
thumbnails on a background thread and it's not like I care about
thumbnails very much in a text editor, but for now let's just pledge
"thread" so I can get on with the thing I wanted to get on with.
I started adding things to a Draw namespace, but it somehow felt really
wrong seeing Draw::Rect and Draw::Bitmap, etc. So instead, let's rename
the library to LibGfx. :^)
I've been wanting to do this for a long time. It's time we start being
consistent about how this stuff works.
The new convention is:
- "LibFoo" is a userspace library that provides the "Foo" namespace.
That's it :^) This was pretty tedious to convert and I didn't even
start on LibGUI yet. But it's coming up next.
As suggested by Joshua, this commit adds the 2-clause BSD license as a
comment block to the top of every source file.
For the first pass, I've just added myself for simplicity. I encourage
everyone to add themselves as copyright holders of any file they've
added or modified in some significant way. If I've added myself in
error somewhere, feel free to replace it with the appropriate copyright
holder instead.
Going forward, all new source files should include a license header.
